The problem of high cholesterol
There are two types of cholesterol: HDL and LDL (also known as good and bad cholesterol). Good cholesterol helps to carry bad cholesterol to the liver for disposal.
Bad cholesterol in contrast plays a more dangerous role in the body. High levels of LDL in the blood can lead to plaque formation, narrowing the space blood has to flow through and causing clogged arteries.
When levels of LDL cholesterol build up within the body it can lead to health issues associated with it, including heart problems and strokes.
How can weight loss tea help?
It seems obvious that you can help your body become healthier by decreasing the levels of LDL (bad cholesterol) in your body. Surprisingly, this can be very easy to achieve.
Many people drink green tea in an effort to lose weight, but it has been shown to inhibit LDL from becoming dangerous plaque in arteries. Additionally, studies show green tea can prevent high levels of LDL from spiraling out of control and becoming a serious issue.
The University of Hong Kong conducted an experiment to analyze the effects of weight loss tea (a blend including Puerh and Oolong tea, key ingredients in the weight loss tea Tava Tea) on cholesterol levels. Rats fed on a high cholesterol diet had their liver examined after eight weeks of being fed the tea and eating the high cholesterol diet.
The study demonstrated a significant reduction in cholesterol levels and liver fat over the eight week period, compared to no effect seen on rats who were fed a water placebo instead of the tea.
What weight loss teas are effective?
A particularly effective tea is Tava Tea, which contains a blend of Sencha tea, puerh tea and Oolong tea. These teas are rich in polyphenols which have been shown to lower the risk of heart disease.
If you are concerned about high cholesterol, trying a weight loss tea could be a good choice as the first step towards better health. You could also see welcome weight loss benefits as a side effect.
These teas have little known side effects, and when drinking a combination of powerful teas such as Puerh and Oolong tea, can help support a healthy heart and general well being thanks to their anti-oxidant content.
If you normally drink tea anyway, substituting with one of these weight loss teas could be an easy option.
